We are now offering a bearing kit for the angle drive of gearbox type 0AV with the identification VAA350+ in our shop, an economical alternative to a complete replacement angle drive.
What is the 0AV?
The 0AV is the angle drive for transversely mounted powertrains in the VAG group. It is located on the main gearbox, redirects the torque by 90° via a bevel gear pair, and transmits it to the cardan shaft towards the rear axle. It is installed in conjunction with the Haldex all-wheel drive system, known as 4Motion (VW, Skoda, SEAT) or quattro (Audi with transverse engine) depending on the brand.
Bearing kit instead of replacement angle drive
In practice, the problem is not the gears, but the bearings. Typical symptoms after high mileage include: howling or humming between 60 and 120 km/h, vibrations during load changes, noticeable bearing play. With a professionally pressed-in bearing kit, the 0AV is usually ready for permanent use again, provided the gearing itself is intact.
